Now I have been to Angelo's quite a few times, once with my mother and was told in a very rude fashion that we could only sit at one certain table eventhough the place was empty, then once seated they did not serve us. About 1 month before that I went with my Partner for dinner Was Not Served at all even though we went and spoke to a waiter, and about 3 months before that i went with two friends and was rudely ignored again.....
Now after all these bad experience I was determined to have a pleasant meal at Angelos. My father took my mother and I out to Angelos for breakfast 2 sunday mornings ago, I was told by Angelo that we could sit anywhere, great start! We were served by a friendly waiter and ordered our meals and drinks....
The food we had to wait one and a half hours for and our drinks came after our meal...I had to chase the meals and drinks up a few times (I might add that it was not busy by any means), our meals not crash hot, I had my all time favourit eggs benedict, with salmon and avocado...I have eaten this meal at many many many restruarants in Mackay and it was by no means anything to brag about at all (let alone make a televsion add and call it your famous meal), infact as I paid $17.00 for it I expected alot more. My parents meals also not fantastic, and my mothers fruit toast somewhat burnt, with her little butters being melted causing her to spill it when she opened.
Do not get me wrong, i have tried numerous times at this restraunt and I'm afraid that it is totally over for me. Very disapointing. Though being optomistic I will try again in a months time for dinner, wish me luck!

I found Cool Mango to have great Coffee reasonably priced but on the downside, the food was somewhat over priced for what you were getting...Would i eat there again no, but i would deffiantly have a coffee. The service was very warm and friendly, the music was great and not too loud. A nice little cafe to escape for an hour or so just not worth eating there.

Had a quick lunch with a work colleague this afternoon. The service was very friendly and there was an excellent range of food on offer, which was something I hadn't expected. I ordered a chicken chilli tender wrap and was even offered a free apple when I paid.
The wrap came out quickly and tasted fresh, although either end of the chicken tender strip was a little 'chewy'. I washed the wrap down with a can of soft drink. It was nice and cool inside the cafe and the staff there asked how our meal was before we finished. I would definitely go there again.

Aqua - Review « Result #6 on Jan 2, 2007, 7:16am »

I had been past Aqua a few times during work and thought I'd give it a try. The breakfast and lunch menus are usually displayed out the front, although for some reason the dinner menu was on display (it was 12:30 in the afternoon).
After finding a seat (it was a choice between sitting inside where the music was just a little too loud or outside where the traffic noise was loud) my dining partner ordered drinks and our mains: cajun chicken with jasmine rice and a cooling yoghurt dressing for me, Morrocan-style meatballs on a bed of cous-cous for her, and chips with garlic aioli for a main.
Service was professional but somewhat lacking in warmth, with the exception of one particular waitperson who was genuinely friendly. The drinks came out in 330ml glasses, which we thought were quite a good size.
The food came out in a timely fashion and the chicken dish was excellent: the rice was well-cooked and the chicken tender, although they could have been more generous with the yoghurt dressing to take the heat of the chicken. The meatballs were good according to my dining partner, with a little bit of heat to them.
I ordered a French Martini coctail which again was excellent, although a little pricey at $13. My dining partner had a slice of passionfruit cheesecake, although the waitperson forgot the order (the only blemish on the friendly waitperson's mark).
The prices were reasonable apart from the martini, and the only thing that really let the place down was atmosphere: having to decide between loud music and traffic noise is a decision that shouldn't have to be made.
